MY STORY
I DIDN'T LEARN BUSINESS FROM
A TEXTBOOK.
I LEARNED IT RUNNING ONE.
For decades, I worked in the trades—owning a service and repair business, electrical and mechanical contracting, managing projects, serving customers, and dealing with the same financial decisions contractors face every day.
Payroll had to clear.
Jobs had to make money.
Customers had to pay.
And at the end of the month, there had to be something left.
That's the experience behind Hi-Tek Accounting.
THE WORK TAUGHT ME THE BUSINESS.
THE NUMBERS TAUGHT ME WHY.
Running a service business taught me something important: being busy and making money aren't the same thing.
01 — THE TRADES
I learned the business from the ground up.
Working as an electrical and mechanical contractor taught me how jobs really happen—labor, materials, equipment, customers, scheduling and everything that can go wrong between the estimate and the final invoice.
02 — THE BUSINESS
Then I learned what it takes to own one.
Running my own service and repair business meant the responsibility didn't stop when the job was finished. Pricing, payroll, cash flow, overhead and profitability mattered just as much as doing good work.
03 — THE NUMBERS
That's when the financial side became impossible to ignore.
I learned that financial statements aren't just accounting reports. When you understand them, they show you where the business is making money, where it's losing it and what deserves your attention next.
That changed the way I looked at accounting.
The books shouldn't just be accurate. They should help the owner run a better business.
I SAW THE PROBLEM FROM BOTH SIDES.
As a contractor, I needed more than accurate books. I needed to understand what the numbers were telling me about the business.
WHAT BUSINESS OWNERS GET
Financial statements.
Profit & Loss reports.
Balance sheets.
Bank reconciliations.
All important.
But a report tells you what happened.
It doesn't necessarily tell you why it happened — or what to do next.
WHAT I BELIEVE THEY NEED
Accurate books are the foundation.
But business owners also need someone who can help them understand:
Where is the profit being made?
Where is cash getting tied up?
Is labor producing enough revenue?
Are we pricing correctly?
What needs our attention now?
Accurate Books. Clear Financial Insight. Better Business Decisions.
THAT'S WHY I BUILT HI-TEK ACCOUNTING.
I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HAVE TO MAKE THE CALL.
Owning a service business means making decisions every day — often before you have all the information you wish you had.
I’VE HAD TO ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS
Can we make payroll?
Are we charging enough?
Can we afford another employee?
Should we buy that truck or equipment?
Why are we busy but cash is still tight?
Which jobs are actually making us money?
THAT CHANGES HOW I ADVISE
I don't look at your financials as numbers on a page.
I look at them through the eyes of someone who has had to make decisions about pricing, payroll, employees, equipment, customers, cash flow and profit.
Because the goal isn't simply to have accurate financial statements.
The goal is to build a stronger, more profitable business.
I DON’T JUST UNDERSTAND THE NUMBERS.
I UNDERSTAND THE DECISIONS BEHIND THEM.
THAT EXPERIENCE BECAME THE HI-TEK APPROACH.
Bookkeeping tells us where the business has been. Profit Advisory helps us decide where it goes next.
01 — GET THE BOOKS RIGHT
Accurate, organized bookkeeping gives us financial information we can trust.
02 — UNDERSTAND THE BUSINESS
We look beyond the reports to understand what’s happening with profit, cash, labor, pricing and operating performance.
03 — MAKE BETTER DECISIONS
We turn that financial insight into practical conversations about what deserves attention and what to do next.
ACCURATE BOOKS → CLEAR FINANCIAL INSIGHT → BETTER BUSINESS DECISIONS
I BUILT HI-TEK FOR BUSINESS OWNERS LIKE YOU.
I know what it’s like to build a business around customers, employees, jobs, equipment and a lot of responsibility.
And I know how different the business looks when you can finally see what the numbers are telling you.
That’s what I want Hi-Tek to provide for you — accurate books, clear financial insight, and someone in your corner who understands the business behind the numbers.
